Review by hotel critic
The Old Sweet Shop in Alnwick served as an excellent base for our recent family vacation. This well-maintained property was conveniently located near shops and attractions, making it easy for us to explore the enchanting Northumberland area without needing a car. The house's thoughtful layout provided ample space for our family, contributing to a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was how accessible local activities were; we enjoyed a lovely day of golfing at a nearby course, which was a pleasant surprise for the children. Cycling along the scenic routes leading to Alnmouth and Warkworth also became a cherished family bonding experience. We greatly appreciated the owner's supportive approach, providing a comprehensive welcome pack and clarity regarding our departure. With one parking space available and a pet-friendly atmosphere, this accommodation effortlessly catered to our needs. For families looking for a welcoming place to stay, I highly recommend the Old Sweet Shop. It balances proximity to attractions with essential comforts, allowing for a memorable family getaway in the beautiful North East of England.
